- A Holiday Message from Ricky Gervais: Why I'm An Atheist – Speakeasy – WSJ
Yes, it's a rehash of the same old pro-atheism arguments we've all heard time and time again. But it's eloquent, witty, and surprisingly warm and kind, and I liked it.
- notes on "how to clone delicious in 48 hours"
This made me laugh with recognition. After all, delicious doesn't go anything complex, does it? It's got all of three different blobs of data – users, who have links, which have tags. (And some optional text, but that's trivial). How had can that be to throw together? And one one level, that's true. I could roll my own personal delicious in a weekend. But I couldn't make it available to anyone else without months of work.

- YouTube – i'm not a terrorist
This is unreal. I know that beat officers are getting more and more direction from above that harrassing photographers and videographers is not a crime, but seriously, I think there perhaps needs to be a bit more that that. "I'm making a list and checking it twice. Ha! Fuck that. Drinking and playing it by ear." "I like how everyone thinks Rudolph did shit. Fact. Rudolph is an oh-look-at-me-I-have-a-red-nose diva fuck." and similar gems.

- appropriate christmas
This was pitched to me as "the sound of a mall dying". I would call it the death knell of the holiday season. It is a massive dose of festive bitterness, as some genius has basically mashed up every festive song ever, and produced well, just give it a listen.
Christmas Eve Day
Sitting here in my grandmother’s lounge, looking out over her lawn at the wind whipping the trees. I’m always slightly awed by th sheer size of the houses round here. Anyway, the only reason I’m really posting this is on the offchance anyone reads this in the next day or two. Merry Christmas, folks.
